01 / About
Jewish humor has shaped culture for generations. From storytelling and satire to stand-up and improvisation, comedy has helped communities navigate uncertainty, preserve identity, and create connection.
Yet despite its influence, there is no institution dedicated to preserving, teaching, researching, and advancing Jewish comedy.
The Jewish Comedy Center is changing that.
We are building the world's first and ONLY global hub dedicated to Jewish humor. This is your destination, where comedy becomes education, cultural diplomacy, healing trauma, building community, relationships and humanity.
Our vision combines live entertainment, immersive experiences, education, and digital media to inspire Jewish pride while creating one of Israel's most unique cultural attractions. From a deep dive of Jewish Humor’s history to present day comedy, and how laughs can build a stronger, more connected Jewish Peoplehood around the world.
02 / Vision
We believe comedy is cultural record: a way to question, connect, survive, and delight. Our work protects that record while inviting new voices to add to it.
03 / Research
The Data Behind Our Mission
Despite perpetual geopolitical strain and war, Israel consistently ranks in the Top 10 Happiest Countries in the World. This resilience is driven heavily by tight-knit social connections and cultural coping mechanisms, chief among them, a defiant sense of humor.
Clinical studies show that humor reduces cortisol, stimulates endorphins, and dramatically alters cognitive appraisals of threat. In trauma-exposed populations, active use of humor correlates with higher psychological recovery rates and lower levels of PTSD.
Traditional educational models are experiencing a crisis of engagement among Gen Z and young adults. Pew Research Center research indicates that contemporary audiences connect with identity, heritage, and socio-political issues through bite-sized, authentic entertainment and media rather than rigid lectures.
04 / The Future
What We’re Building
The Jewish Comedy Center is a first-of-its-kind cultural destination in Jerusalem featuring:
A professional venue for stand-up, improv, storytelling, festivals, international performers, podcasts, and original productions.
An immersive experience exploring Jewish humor across history, from biblical wit and Yiddish comedy to Israeli satire and contemporary comedy voices. Lectures, presentations, and experiential learning make it welcoming for all ages and backgrounds.
Hands-on workshops in improv, storytelling, stand-up, podcasting, public speaking, and creative leadership for students, educators, entrepreneurs, and professionals.
A media hub producing original podcasts, educational content, documentaries, online courses, and global comedy programming.
Comedy festivals featuring local talent, international comedians, films, and more—bringing communities together and sharing the experience around the world.
Together, these create an ecosystem where Jewish humor is experienced, studied, performed, and shared with audiences around the world.

While developing our permanent Jerusalem campus, we’re already bringing the mission directly to communities worldwide.

06 / Testimonials
In Their Own Words
Molly created a session that humorously and sensitively addressed the highlights, challenges, joys and oys of being an international student in Israel.
Hebrew University International School and University of Kansas · Ira
I had the pleasure of enjoying Molly’s stand-up comedy multiple times throughout my years working at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem’s Rothberg International School. During her routines, Molly made hilarious and thoughtful jokes and commentary about being American, Israeli, and an American who became an Israeli.
This is precisely why improv translates so well outside the theater—into courtrooms, classrooms, boardrooms…
Borscht Belt Festival Workshop · Joey Novick, Seasoned Comedian
Collaboration When You’ve Never Met: What a Borscht Belt Workshop Taught Me About the Common Language of “Yes, And.” At 1:00 PM yesterday, I met Molly Livingstone for the first time. By 2:50 PM, we had just finished co-facilitating a nearly two-hour improvisation workshop together at the Borscht Belt Festival—a workshop we never rehearsed, never outlined, and never so much as texted about in advance.
